# FAQ

Answers about CAS Advanced Gang System: one gang per character, a leader leaving, moving structures, the camp record, restarts, contests, keys and colours.

<details>

<summary>Can a character be in two gangs?</summary>

No. A character rides with one gang at a time. A player with two characters can ride with a different gang on each.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Can the leader leave?</summary>

Not directly. The leader first hands the gang to a rider of the rank directly below (the Right Hand by default), or disbands it.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Can a structure be moved or taken down?</summary>

Yes. On the Camp tab, click the structure and choose **Move** or **Take down**. Both need the `place` permission, and moving needs you in camp. The leader's tent stays put, because the camp is measured from it. See [Camp structures](/script-documentation/cas-advanced-gang/playing/placing-structures.md#moving-and-taking-down).

</details>

<details>

<summary>Which structures do something?</summary>

The Ledger Table opens the ledger, the Supply Wagon holds the stash, the Lookout Post warns of riders coming, and the Alarm Bell rings for the whole gang. The others build out the camp and count toward the `structures` challenge. You can connect your own systems to the camp through the [exports](/script-documentation/cas-advanced-gang/developers/exports.md).

</details>

<details>

<summary>Where do players see who did what?</summary>

On the Camp tab. The **Lately in camp** panel switches between **Book**, the treasury and stash movements, and **Record**: founding, joins, kicks, rank moves, permission and limit changes, tier raises, structures set down, moved and taken down, sightings, bell rings and contests. The record keeps the newest 25 entries per gang.

</details>

<details>

<summary>What happens to treasury requests on a restart?</summary>

Nothing. Requests are saved and wait until the leader allows or refuses them. A request from a rider who is offline waits too: **Allow** works again when they're back.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Does a contest take anything from the camp?</summary>

No. A contest warns the gang, can lock withdrawals, rings the bell if one stands, and counts toward `contestsHeld` when it clears. What it's worth beyond that is up to your server, through `GetGangContest`.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Can players open the ledger with a key?</summary>

RedM has no key mapping for resources, so each player binds the command in the F8 console: `bind keyboard F5 "camp"`. At the ledger table, the **E** hold prompt always works.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Does food spoil on VORP?</summary>

No. VORP and RedEM:RP items have no freshness. Spoilage only happens on RSG, for items with a `decay` value.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Can I change the colours?</summary>

Yes. Change the theme at the top of `web/src/styles.css` and rebuild. See [Customising the interface](/script-documentation/cas-advanced-gang/developers/interface.md#colours).
