# The camp ledger

The camp ledger is where a gang is run in CAS Advanced Gang System: how to open it, what each tab does and why the server decides every action.

The ledger is the gang's book. Nearly everything in CAS Advanced Gang System happens inside it.

## Opening it

| How                            | Where                                     |
| ------------------------------ | ----------------------------------------- |
| Hold **E** at the ledger table | In your own camp, within 2 m of the table |
| Type `/camp`                   | Anywhere                                  |

RedM has no key mapping for resources, so a player who wants a key for the ledger binds the command in the F8 console:

```
bind keyboard F5 "camp"
```

Press **ESC** or the close button to put the book away. The game gets its controls back at once.

{% hint style="info" %}
`/camp` without a gang explains how to found one. If an invitation is waiting, it opens that instead.
{% endhint %}

## The tabs

| Tab          | What it holds                                                                                                                                                                                                            |
| ------------ | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| **Camp** | The camp at a glance. See below. |
| **Roster** | Every rider with rank, last seen, money contributed and deposits made. Invitations, rank changes, kicks and hand-overs happen here. See [Members and ranks](/script-documentation/cas-advanced-gang/playing/members.md). |
| **Ranks** | The rank ladder with each rank's permissions, daily stash allowance and daily treasury ceiling. |
| **Stash** | The supply wagon beside your own satchel. See [The shared stash](/script-documentation/cas-advanced-gang/playing/stash.md). |
| **Ledger** | The treasury: balance, every movement, paying in, drawing out and requests waiting for approval. See [The treasury](/script-documentation/cas-advanced-gang/playing/treasury.md). |
| **Upgrades** | The five camp tiers with prices, unlocks and a meter for each challenge. See [Camp tiers](/script-documentation/cas-advanced-gang/playing/upgrades.md). |

A rank without `treasuryView` finds the Ledger tab shut.

## The Camp tab

* **The banner.** The camp's tier, its influence radius, and whether the ground is held or contested. With a Lookout Post standing, it also shows whether riders are on the trail.
* **Camp structures.** Every structure the camp can have, with how many stand. Click one that stands to open its sheet, where it can be moved or taken down. See [Camp structures](/script-documentation/cas-advanced-gang/playing/placing-structures.md).
* **At a glance.** Riders, treasury, upkeep due, bedrolls and how full the wagon is.
* **Next tier.** Its name, price and what it brings.
* **Lately in camp.** Switch between **Book**, the latest treasury and stash movements, and **Record**, who did what in camp: founding, joins, kicks, rank moves, permission changes, tier raises, structures set down, moved and taken down, sightings, bell rings and contests. The record keeps the newest 25 entries.

## The server decides

Every button sends a request. The server checks rank, permissions, limits, distance and the current state, makes the change, and sends the new state to every member with the ledger open. The interface keeps no price or limit of its own, so a change in `config.lua` shows in the ledger without touching the interface, and a modified client can't get past a rule.
