# Controls

CAS Blackjack controls on PC: sit down, change and place the bet, hit, stand, double, split, insurance, the hand and table cameras, and leaving the table between rounds.

The table uses the story mode's own blackjack controls, so the prompts on screen show the same keys as in the single-player game. Only the moves that are allowed at that moment are shown.

## PC controls

## Sitting down

Walk up to a free chair at one of the three tables. The prompt shows the table and its limits, for example "Blackwater Saloon, Bets $5 to $250". Hold **E** and your character sits down with the story-mode clip. You cannot sit down on a horse or in a vehicle, and only one table at a time.

## Playing a round

1. **Bet.** Set the amount with Arrow Up / Down or the mouse wheel. The amount on the HUD top right follows as you change it. Press **Enter** to place the bet: it shows on the HUD at once and the money leaves your pocket. Press **F** to take it back while betting is open.
2. **The deal.** When betting closes, the dealer deals. The HUD shows the players and their hands bottom left and the dealer's cards top right.
3. **Insurance.** When the dealer shows an ace, **Enter** takes insurance (the prompt shows its cost) and **F** declines.
4. **Your turn.** **H** hit, **S** stand, **D** double down, **Tab** split. The HUD shows the turn timer. When it runs out, the hand stands.
5. **The settle.** The dealer turns his hole card, draws, pays or takes each seat and sweeps the cards. The message with what you won or lost comes once the dealer has played your seat's outcome, not before.

## Cameras

Both cameras switch with a single press. There is no need to hold the key.

* **Right mouse** turns the hand camera on, a close look down at your cards. Press it again to turn it off. It is offered while you have a hand in the round.
* **Space** turns the table camera on, a wider view over the felt. Press it again to turn it off.

Pressing the other camera's key switches straight to that camera.

## Leaving the table

Hold **Backspace** to stand up. The prompt is shown between rounds when you have no bet down, so take a placed bet back with **F** first.

* A player who does not bet for `Config.IdleRounds` rounds in a row (4 by default) gets up and the seat is freed.
* If your character dies at the table, you leave the table.
* If you disconnect mid round, your open hands stand and the round still settles. Winnings are paid when you come back (see [Admin and exports](/script-documentation/cas-blackjack/admin-and-exports.md#money-safety)).
