# CAS Chat V2

CAS Chat V2 (rsm\_rpchat) for RedM — a roleplay chat that replaces the default chat with channels, private letters, overhead speech bubbles, a staff moderation panel and per-player settings. VORP, RSG

**CAS Chat V2** (`rsm_rpchat`) is a full roleplay chat for **RedM**. It replaces the default `chat` resource and adds separate channels, private letters, 3D overhead speech bubbles, a complete staff moderation panel and per-player display settings.

It runs on **VORP**, **RSG** and **standalone** — the framework is detected automatically at startup, and it is a drop-in replacement, so your other resources keep working unchanged.

{% hint style="success" %}
No database, no dependencies. Mutes, blocks and the moderation log live in the server key-value store (per license, so they survive restarts); player display settings save on the player's own machine.
{% endhint %}

## What it gives you

* **Channels** — Say, `/me`, `/do`, `/try`, whisper, shout, global and local OOC, a job channel and a staff channel, each with its own tab, colour and server-side range.
* **Private letters** — players write to each other by server ID, reply with `/r`, and keep a thread per person; blocking is stored per license.
* **Overhead bubbles** — `/me`, `/do` and `/try` float above the character's head in 3D with a line-of-sight check, fully configurable.
* **Moderation** — timed and permanent mutes (all chat or OOC only), slow mode, an OOC lock, chat clearing, banner announcements and a moderation log, all in a five-tab staff panel.
* **Player settings** — scale, font size, background, opacity, screen dim, compact mode, feed length and fade, timestamps, sounds and per-channel visibility.
* **Drop-in replacement** — other resources' `chat:addMessage` lines, commands and autocomplete suggestions all land in this interface.
