# FAQ

Answers about the RedM Duel & Arena System: VORP and RSG Core support, dependencies, database, cheating, performance and customisation.

## Does it work with VORP Core?

Yes. Profiles belong to each VORP character, wagers and prizes use the character's cash, gold is shown in the menu, and deaths during a duel are revived through VORP Core. See [VORP, RSG Core and Standalone](/script-documentation/cas-duel-arena-system/frameworks.md).

## Does it work with RSG Core?

Yes. Profiles belong to each RSG character (`citizenid`), money uses the `cash` money type, and rsg-medic's death screen is kept out of duels.

## Can I run it without a framework?

Yes. In standalone mode each player gets a duel balance kept by the resource itself, starting at $250, and admins can adjust it with `/duel_admin cash`.

## What are the dependencies?

None are required. oxmysql is optional. Without it, data is kept in the resource's own KVP store.

## Do I need to import an SQL file?

No. With oxmysql the tables are created automatically on the first start.

## Which duel modes are included?

Classic Duel, Quick Draw, Best of 3, Best of 5, First to X, Headshot Only, One Shot and Melee. See [Duel Modes and Rules](/script-documentation/cas-duel-arena-system/duel-modes.md).

## Is there ranked play?

Yes. Ranked duels use ELO ratings, with matchmaking queues, rating tiers, a season leaderboard and server records. See [Ranked Matchmaking](/script-documentation/cas-duel-arena-system/matchmaking.md).

## Can players bet on duels?

Duelists can wager on their own duel, with a house cut you choose. Spectators can place side bets on either shooter until the first round is decided. See [Wagers, Side Bets and Payouts](/script-documentation/cas-duel-arena-system/wagers-and-betting.md).

## Can players cheat their reaction time?

The server referees every round. It checks every reported draw time against its own clock, allowing only for the player's ping and a small tolerance, and treats a draw faster than 110 milliseconds after the signal as a false start. The signal itself comes after a random pause. Event spam is rate limited on the server.

## Do duels happen in the open world?

Every match runs in its own routing bucket on a real street. Other players cannot walk into the line of fire, and spectators are moved into the same bucket to watch.

## Can I add my own arenas?

Yes, without typing coordinates. Stand in the street and run `/duel_admin arena <id>`. The tool finds the clearest direction and a spot for the spectator camera, and writes the config line to `arena_log.txt`. See [Arenas](/script-documentation/cas-duel-arena-system/arenas.md).

## Can I add weapons, modes or NPC outlaws?

Weapons and outlaws, yes, from `config.lua`. Modes can be removed and their formats changed, but each mode's behaviour is built in. See [Configuration](/script-documentation/cas-duel-arena-system/configuration.md).

## Is Dead Eye allowed in duels?

No. Dead Eye is always blocked during a duel so the draw is decided by the player's hand.

## What happens if a player disconnects mid-duel?

They forfeit. The opponent wins and receives the pot. If the opponent is offline too, their winnings are kept and paid the next time they open the menu.

## What happens if the server restarts during a tournament?

The bracket is saved. It carries on from where it was, and any match that was in progress is started again.

## How heavy is it on the client?

When a player is not in a duel or watching one, the client runs two light timers and nothing every frame. Per-frame work only runs during a duel or while an incoming challenge is on screen.

## Can I change how the menu looks?

Yes. The menu's source code is included in `web/src`. See [Editing the Interface](/script-documentation/cas-duel-arena-system/interface.md).

## Which languages are included?

English and Turkish. Switch with `Config.Locale`, or copy `locales/en.lua` to add your own. The menu, HUD, notifications and server messages all follow the setting. See [Languages and Translation](/script-documentation/cas-duel-arena-system/languages.md).

## Can I change the command?

Yes, with `Config.Command`. The admin command is always `/duel_admin`.
