# Spectating Live Duels

Watch live RedM duels from a spectator camera and bet on the shooters. How spectating works in the RedM Duel & Arena System.

The **Active Duels** tab lists every duel in progress on the server, player duels, NPC duels and tournament matches alike, sorted by how many people are watching.

Each card shows both duelists with their ratings and score, the mode, the arena, the pot, the side bets placed so far, the odds and what is happening right now: walking paces, steady, drawing, or match point.

## Watching a duel

Pick a duel and press **Watch**.

1. The screen fades out.
2. You are moved into the match's private routing bucket, so you see exactly what the duelists see.
3. A fixed camera opens at the arena's spectator point, looking down the street. Your own character is hidden and held in place while you watch.
4. The spectator display shows the score, the round, the odds and the side bets panel.

Press **Esc** to stop watching. You are faded out and put back exactly where you were.

When the duel ends you are returned automatically, with a message saying who won.

## Betting while you watch

The side bets panel has three stakes for each duelist. Pick one to place your bet. Betting closes once the first round is decided. See [Wagers, Side Bets and Payouts](/script-documentation/cas-duel-arena-system/wagers-and-betting.md#spectator-side-bets).

## Who can watch

* Anyone with a character loaded, from anywhere on the map.
* Not a player who is already in a duel, waiting on a challenge, or watching another duel.
* Not a duelist in their own match.

## The crowd

The number of spectators is shown on the card and counts towards the **Man of the People** achievement for both duelists, awarded for duelling in front of 25 people at once.

## The spectator camera position

Every arena has a `spectate` point in `config.lua`. The arena tool picks one for you, to the side of the street with a clear view. See [Arenas](/script-documentation/cas-duel-arena-system/arenas.md).
