# Controls

CAS Poker controls on PC: sit down, the buy-in panel, check, call, bet, raise, all in and fold, the cards and board cameras, buying more chips, sitting out and leaving the table.

The table uses the story mode's own poker controls, so the prompts on screen show the same keys as in the single-player game. Only the moves that are allowed at that moment are shown.

The keys are set in `Config.Keys` (see [Configuration](/script-documentation/cas-poker/configuration.md#keys)).

## Sitting down

Walk up to a free chair at one of the five tables. The prompt shows the table and its blinds, for example "Valentine Saloon, Blinds $0.25 / $0.50". Hold **E** and the buy-in panel opens. You cannot sit down on a horse or in a vehicle, and only at one table at a time.

At a chair a house player sits in, the prompt reads **Ask for the Seat**. Hold **E** and the house player stands up after the hand. For 30 seconds after that no new house player sits down at the table, so the chair stays free for you: hold **E** there for **Sit Down**. See [Asking for the seat](/script-documentation/cas-poker/house-players.md#asking-for-the-seat).

## The buy-in panel

The panel shows the table, its blinds, the buy-in range, how many seats are taken, who sits where (house players are marked) and the cash in your pocket.

* **Set your stake** with the slider, **A** / **D** or the Left / Right arrows (one big blind per step), the Up / Down arrows (ten steps) or the mouse wheel (one step, ten with Shift). **Min**, **½** and **Max** jump straight there. The stake starts halfway between the minimum and the maximum buy-in.
* **Enter** or **Take the seat** sits you down. When the stake is more than the cash in your pocket, the button stays off.
* **Esc**, **Backspace** or **Walk away** closes the panel.

The buy-in leaves your pocket and your character sits down with the Red Dead Online sit-down scene. The next hand starts a few seconds later, as soon as at least two players with chips are seated.

## Playing a hand

1. **Blinds and the deal.** The two seats after the button post the blinds. The player on the button shuffles and deals two cards to every seat, and everyone picks their cards up. The HUD shows your cards and the name of your hand, for example "Pair of Kings".
2. **Your turn.** The turn cue plays and the meter on the HUD runs. Set the amount with **Arrow Up / Down** or the **mouse wheel**, half a big blind per step (hold to go faster). The prompt reads **Check**, **Call**, **Bet**, **Raise to** or **All In** for that amount. **Enter** makes that move, **F** folds.
3. **Flop, turn and river.** The dealer lays the board from the deck and a new betting round starts on every street.
4. **Showdown.** The cards are shown, the HUD shows each player's hand and what each winner takes ("wins $40, Pair of Kings") and the pot goes to the winner. The next hand follows after `Config.HandPauseSeconds` (10 seconds).

When the turn meter runs out, you check if you can, otherwise you fold. Two timeouts in a row sit you out.

## Cameras

Both cameras switch with a single press. There is no need to hold the key.

* **Right mouse** turns the cards camera on: first person, with your cards lifted to your face as in the story mode. Press it again to put them down. It is offered while you hold cards in a hand.
* **Space** turns the board camera on, a view down on the felt. Press it again to turn it off. It is offered while a hand is being played.

Pressing the other camera's key switches straight to that camera.

## Buying more chips

Press **Tab** between hands (when you are not in the hand being played) while your stack is below the table's maximum buy-in. The buy-in panel opens for more chips, starting at the amount that takes you to the maximum buy-in. The chips are added at once and the money leaves your pocket.

When you run out of chips, the message "You are out of chips. Buy more or leave the table." appears. Buy more within `Config.BustedSeconds` (30 seconds), otherwise you stand up.

## Sitting out

Press **G** between hands to sit out: you keep your seat and your stack, but you are not dealt in. The prompt then reads **Deal Me In**; press **G** again to play the next hand. Letting the turn meter run out twice in a row (`Config.MaxTimeouts`) sits you out as well.

## Leaving the table

Hold **Backspace** to stand up. The prompt is there at any time except while it is your turn to act.

* **Between hands, or after you have folded,** you stand up with the Red Dead Online stand-up scene, sweeping your chips off the felt, and your stack is paid out as cash: "You cashed out $73.50 ($23.50 on the night)."
* **During a hand you are still in,** your hand is folded and you cash out the chips in front of you. What you have already put in the pot stays in the pot.
* **All in,** you stand up when the hand is over ("You will stand up when this hand is over.") and whatever you won is paid out with your stack.
* **Knocked out of the chair or killed,** you leave the table and your stack is paid out.
* **Disconnecting** gives up your seat. Your chips are kept for you and paid on your next visit (see [Money safety](/script-documentation/cas-poker/admin-and-exports.md#money-safety)).
