# FAQ

CAS Poker FAQ: frameworks, SQL, playing alone against house players, what house players do to your economy, multiplayer, languages, crashes mid hand, rake and adding tables.

### Which frameworks does it support?

VORP Core and RSG Core. The script detects the one that is running. You can force one with `Config.Framework` (see [Installation](/script-documentation/cas-poker/installation.md#framework)).

### Do I need to import SQL or add items?

No. There is no database table and there are no items. Chips on the tables are kept in the resource's KVP.

### Can one player play alone?

Yes. When a player sits down at an empty table, house players (NPC gamblers) take the empty seats, three of them by default, and the hand starts. See [House players](/script-documentation/cas-poker/house-players.md).

### Do house players cost the server money?

Their chips belong to the house. What a player wins from them is new money in your economy, and what they win from players leaves it. To keep money moving only between players, turn them off with `Config.Bots.enabled = false`, per table with `bots = false`, or live with `/pokeradmin bots off`. ### Can several players sit at the same table?

Yes, up to six per table. The server runs every hand, and everyone near the table sees the same deal, cards and chips. Each player only gets their own cards until the showdown.

### Can other players watch?

Yes. Anyone within `Config.WatchDistance` (30 meters) of a table sees the hands play out. The cards stay face down until the showdown.

### Which languages are included?

English. To add a language, copy the `en` table in `config/locale.lua`, rename the copy (for example `Locales.de`), translate the texts and set `Config.Locale = "de"`. Any text you leave out falls back to English. The Min, ½ and Max buttons on the buy-in panel are written in `web/app.js`. Test the prompts in game, as the game's prompt font does not draw every special character.

### What happens if a player crashes mid hand?

They give up the seat: a hand they are still in is folded, and an all-in hand plays out first. Their chips are written down for their character and paid on their next visit. If the resource stops mid hand, the hand is called off and every player gets back the stack they had when it started. ### Is there a rake?

Not by default, as in the saloons of the story mode. Set `Config.Rake` to keep a share of every pot, with a cap per pot and no rake on hands that end before the flop. See [Rake](/script-documentation/cas-poker/configuration.md#rake).

### Can I add more tables?

Yes. Add an entry to `config/tables.lua` with the table's centre on the floor and its heading. Where the map has no poker table, the script puts down a table and chairs. See [Adding a table](/script-documentation/cas-poker/tables-and-stakes.md#adding-a-table).

### Can I change the stakes?

Yes. Pick another level (`low`, `medium`, `high`) per table, give a table its own blinds and buy-in, or edit the levels in `Config.Stakes`. See [Stakes](/script-documentation/cas-poker/tables-and-stakes.md#stakes).

### Can players play for gold instead of cash?

On VORP, set `Config.VorpCurrency = 1`. On RSG, set `Config.RsgMoneyType` to the money type you want.

### Can I log the tables to Discord?

Yes. Put a Discord webhook URL in `Config.Log.webhook`. Every sit-down (with the buy-in) and every leave (with the cash-out) is posted. See [Table log](/script-documentation/cas-poker/admin-and-exports.md#table-log).

### Can I edit the config in the Escrow edition?

Yes. `config/config.lua`, `config/tables.lua` and `config/locale.lua` stay open in the Escrow edition, and the buy-in panel ships as plain files.

### Does it need cas-notification?

No. It is used when it runs. Otherwise the messages go through VORP's or RSG's own notifications.
