# Vehicle HUD

The CAS RedM Cars vehicle HUD. An analog speedometer with revs and gear, engine, fuel and body meters, lamp and warning lights, an odometer, and per-player settings.

`cas-vehiclehud` shows a vintage instrument panel while you sit in one of the motor cars. It hides on foot, in other vehicles and in the pause menu.

## What it shows

* An analog speedometer with the revs and the gear.
* Engine, fuel and body meters. The speedometer dims when the engine is badly damaged.
* Lamp and warning lights: headlamps, handbrake, low fuel, engine trouble.
* The odometer.

## Settings

Every player can type `/vehhud` to open the HUD settings:

* speed unit;
* dial range;
* size and opacity;
* which modules show (engine, fuel, gear, odometer).

The settings are kept on the player's game.

## For staff

`/vehhudpreview` plays the HUD's demo drive, to check how it looks without a car.

## Other scripts

`cas-vehiclehud` hides itself for a moment when another script calls its client export `HideFor(ms)`. The garage does this while its **Store Vehicle** prompt shows, since the game draws prompts in the same corner.
