# Spectating Live Matches

Watch live shooting matches in RedM: the spectator camera, switching lanes, what spectators see and the distance rule.

Every match in progress can be watched. The camera takes the spectator behind a shooter's lane, looking down the line of fire at the targets, and the HUD shows the whole match: every lane, the score, the clock and the feed.

## Start watching

* **Open Matches** lists every live match with the shooters, the mode, the range, the score and how many are watching. Press **Watch** on one.
* **Play > Spectate** jumps straight into the first live match.
* While watching, a spectator can jump to the next live match from the HUD.

Spectators must be within 240 metres of the match's range (twice `Config.Rules.JoinRange`). Further away, they are told to ride closer.

## Controls

| Key | What it does |
| --------------- | ------------- |
| **Left Arrow** | Previous lane |
| **Right Arrow** | Next lane |
| **Backspace** | Stop watching |

The spectator panel shows which lane is on camera and how many people are watching the match.

## When the match ends

Spectators are sent back to the menu with the result, or told that the match was cancelled.

## Good to know

* Watching a match leaves any lobby or quick match search the spectator was in.
* A player cannot watch while they are in a match of their own.
* Practice runs cannot be watched.
